New Review: "Brian Gage has much to teach in The Saddest Little Robot...the book's multifaceted message is embedded in an inventive and interesting science-fiction framework...Gage challenges children to think for themselves..." - Theresa Hegel, The Youngstown Vindicator May 2004
New Review: "Gage's "real" children's book seems a much more satisfying read for all ages, its characters and plot both more complex and more heroic...Gage has paired with an illustrator who's big on beauty and right in tune with his vision...I found myself yelling "Go, Snoot, go!" and digging my nails into the underside of my chair all the way to the end." - Ann Sterzinger, The Chicago Reader
New Review: "...this story is a thought-provoking way to initiate discussion of oppression, slavery, subterfuge, and prejudice in a manner that youngsters can understand." - Children's Literature Review May 2004
